A 19th Century Indian carved sandal wood table top casket, of rectangular outline, with lift off lid finely decorated with exotic birds and geometric bands, enclosing a lift out tray of fitted lidded compartments, the sides decorated with oval panels of birds and foliage, raised on claw feet, 34cm long, 18cm deep, 16cm high, also containing a hand written note, "This box is for my granddaughter Frances Susanna Mofess?
One piece of moulding missing to the side of the lift off lid. Missing bone knob to one lid of the fitted interior. Base of lift out stray has a split to one corner. Split to the base and two claws missing to the feet. Other slight faults (see images)
